Rambabu (Pawan Kalyan) is mechanic and he runs a repairing shed. Pawan reacts to every sensitive news and goes to question the culprits. This attitude is liked by Ganga (Tamannah) who works for a media channel; she invites him to join her channel as reporter. As a reporter, Rambabu has to lock horns with Ex-CM and his son Rana Naidu who wishes to take a plunge in to politics. What are the issues that take place in the state and how Rambabu as areporter faces them is what the movie is about?

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is the second biggest grosser in Pawan Kalyan's career. The movie came after the release of his super hit movie, Gabbar Singh but the interests of the movie were greatly hampered by the agitation of Telangana activists. Yet, the movie found its place in the Top 10 biggest grossers of Telugu cinema during that period.
Highlights
Pawan Kalyan and Puri Jagannadh earlier teamed up for Badri. Incidentally, it was Pawan Kalyan who gave him first direction chance. But it took 12 years for the combination to be set once again.
Pawan Kalyan played TV Reporter character for the first time in his career. In Bangaram, he aspires to become a BBC reporter but he fails to achieve it.
Tamannah played Tomboyish character in the movie. This is first of its kind for her and she managed it well.

Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu script was first narrated to Balakrishna but the actor was not convinced. Later it was narrated to Pawan Kalyan with some changes.
There were several reports that Pawan Kalyan and Puri had creative differences on sets of this movie.
Puri and Producer Danayya had a tussle regarding the former's remuneration. Puri went on to complain about it in the Director's council. Later it was settled amicably.
Telangana activists felt that there are few scenes in the movie which were intended to show their movement in bad light. They went on to disrupt the screening of the movie in Nizam region which is strongest region of trade for Pawan Kalyan.
