ACP Vijay Khanna (Ram Charan) is a tough young cop who does not bog down for any pressures. As a result, transfers become quite common for him. And in one of his tussles with a ruling party leader, he gets transferred to Mumbai where gets to investigate the murder of a vice-collector and it leads him to oil mafia and dreaded criminal Rudra Pratap Teja (Prakash Raj). What happens next and how Vijay solves the case forms the crux of the story.
Here comes the main culprit of the movie. Any action entertainer would certainly need the help of vibrant music to enhance the feel of a scene but this is not the case of Zanjeer. Except for 2-3 scenes, the back ground score is pretty ordinary.
Gururaj could have worked more on his camera. Editing should have been a lot better. Telugu dubbing dialogues are too bad for a star hero movie.
While deciding the ‘verdict’ of the film lot of factors like ‘comparison with old Zanjeer’, ‘considering taste of our audience’ comes in to my mind. Despite the little flaws, Toofan will be a decent film to watch. The more you stay away from these factors, the better you like the film.
