Mr. Nookayya (Manoj Manchu) is an orphan and a cellphone thief. He is deeply in love with Shilpa (Sana Khan). But Sana wants Nokia to settle down in life lavishly and will insist Nookayya to do something. Meanwhile Anu (Kriti Kharbanda) and Kiran (Raja) are newly married couple. Kiran gets kidnapped just a day after their marriage. The kidnappers demand 2 crores money from Anu. That is how when Nookayya and Anu meet each other. The rest of the story is how Anu recues Kiran and what will happen to Nookayya.

The movie released with lot of expectations but it failed miserably at box office. The movie ended as biggest flop in Manchu Manoj’s career.

All the stunts in this film were composed by Manchu Manoj himself.
Shriya was selected for the female lead initially but with remunerations clashes with the producer of the film, she stepped out of the project.
Praneeta was considered as the second female but she too backed out of the film.
The film was titled Mr. Nokia initially but later Nokia filed a petition in the court as they are the patented ones, so the title was renamed as Mr. Nookayya.
Manchu Manoj insisted for Nithya Menen for the female lead in this film but it couldn’t happen.
Sidelights
The shooting of the film was planned to complete in 75 days but the team wrapped in 45 days.
As the movie did not fare well at box office, Manoj returned 60% of his remuneration to the producer of the film.
