Krishna - Krish (Junior NTR) and Indu (Samantha) are in love. Bhoomi (Kajal Agarwal) and Indu are good friends. On the request of Indu, Krish agrees to act as boyfriend of Bhoomi to save her from getting married to another person (Ajay) in the Village as she is keen in pursuing her higher studies. He goes to her village. Straight away he encounters with the problems of the family. What happens there and how he manages to win every one’s heart forms the rest of the story.

Brindavanam was released just a week after the release of Mahesh Babu’s “Khaleja” but managed to emerge as winner despite competition. The clean content of the movie and excellent comedy in the movie had made the movie dearer to family audience. The movie then was the biggest grosser in NTR’s career.
Highlights
This is the first combination of NTR and Samantha. Later the duo went on to act together in Harish Shankar’s movie and Santosh Srinivas’ movie.
This is the first combination of NTR and Vamsi Paidipally. Vamsi went on to become big director after this movie and had bagged a movie with Ram Charan titled “Yevadu”.
Sidelights
Art director Anand Sai had erected a huge bungalow set for the movie at Bachupally which was the biggest set erected in Telugu till then.
Kota Srinivasa Rao who played a vital role in the movie lost his son in a road accident during the midway of the film shoot. Kota was not available for shoot for several days causing delay in the shooting.
NTR had an accident shooting for a fight scene in the climax sequence of the movie, and the shoot had to be paused for several days.
Actor Darshan is going to remake the movie in Kannada under the title “Brindavana”.
