Varun Tej is born to Nagendra Babu and Padmaja couple in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh in 1990. Nagendra Babu is brother of Megastar Chiranjeevi. He is an actor and produces movies on Anjana Productions banner. Varun Tej’s mother, Padmaja is a house wife. He has a younger sister, Niharika Konidela.

Varun Tej studied in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Nalanda and St. Marys for his schooling and later completed his B.Com in Computers.

Varun Tej’s mother Padmaja is a hardcore fan of Chiranjeevi and also there is an influence of Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and other family members on Varun which urged him towards films. Chiranjeevi advised him to try in acting after seeing few pics of him taking during during Magadheera shoot. Varun took the decision serious and worked out big time on improving his physique, acting; dances required him to make a hero.

Few photos of Varun Tej surfaced on internet several years ago. His macho and lanky figure attracted everyone and his filmy debut is talked about and media also started predicting his debut movie. The excitement build up as every detail or image of him are out.  After several combinations, finally, Varun Tej’s first project was announced towards the end of 2013. ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ and ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ fame Srikanth Addala has directed the film titled ‘Mukunda’. The movie made superb business before the release on par with big heroes but failed to live up to the expectations after the release. It ended up as a disappointing entry for Varun Tej in to Tollywood.
