Vamshi’s father used to have a film theater in Adilabad. He was thus always connected to cinema since his childhood. After taking up a software job and working in it for some time, very soon he realized that it is not his cup of tea and left it to join Assistant director to Jayanth C Paranji for Prabhas’ Eeshwar. He later worked for Prabhas’ Varsham, Nagarjuna’s Mass and Ravi Teja’s Bhadra.
Recognizing the talent in him, Dil Raju gave him first chance as director with Prabhas’ Munna. The movie set up huge expectations during its making. The audio went on to become a chartbuster and increased them further. Unfortunately, the movie remained as an average grosser.
It took almost 3 years for Vamshi to be back on track. Again it was Dil Raju to produce his second, Brindavanam with NTR in the lead role. The movie despite not having any novel story went on extremely well with family audience. Vamshi cleverly exploited NTR’s strengths and used them to the fullest by adding a bit of entertainment. The film went on to become the biggest hit in NTR’s career then.
Vamshi got the credit of bringing Mega cousins Ram Charan and Allu Arjun together on silver screen with his Yevadu movie. The film released for Sankranthi 2014 went on to become a blockbuster.
