Trisha aspired to become a criminal psychologist but she also harbored the hopes of pursuing a career in films. She first donned the grease paint for Falguni Pathak's music video "Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye" as Ayesha Takia's friend.
Very few people know Trisha began her career with an unaccredited role in Jodi movie. Her first Tamil movie with full length role is Lesa Lesa and her second is Enakku 20 Unakku 18 but both the movies were delayed in production and her third film, Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Surya Sivakumar, thus became her first release. She also acted in three other Tamil movies which include Saamy opposite Vikram. In 2003, she acted in her first Telugu movie, Nee Manasu Naku Telusu which was a failure at the box office.
2004 was a monumental year in Trisha’s filmography. That year she rose to stardom with Varsham movie opposite Prabhas and from there, there is no looking back for her. In 2005, she had two releases, Nuvvosthanante Nenodhantana and Athadu which continued her success streak.
2006 was a forgettable year to Trisha in Telugu. She had three releases that year, Pournami, Bangaram, and Stalin all of them failed to yield success at the box office. Besides being a glam doll, she even scored brownie points with the audience for her roles in Aaduvari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule. Some of other hits include Krishna, King, Bujjigadu, Namo Venkatesa.
After 2010, her career graph began to dip in Telugu. She acted in three movies – Theenmaar, Bodyguard and Dammu but none of them worked at box office and she became work-less in Telugu since then except RUM and untitled film of Balayya. RUM was halted midway due to financial troubles.
