Sunil Varma Indukuri is born in Peda Pulleru, a remote village of West Godavari. At the age of 5, his father breathed his last and from then his mother raised him. He is an avid movie buff since his early school days and a big Chiranjeevi fan. He is also a good dancer and won several dance competitions.  He completed a degree in fine arts.

One of his teachers suggested that he should opt for a degree in fine arts and finally he completed the degree.

Sunil married in 2002 and the couple have a son - Dushyanth and daughter - Kundana.

Sunil first entered film industry as a dancer in 1995. He used to work for a dance school in his initial days. He later worked as an assistant in art department to make his both ends meet.  Trivikram Srinivas is his roommate in those days.

Sunil always aspired to become a villain but fate has other thoughts. His career as comedian started on a slow note with movies like Second Hand (which was stopped from production), and Peruleni Cinema. However, his performance in Swayamvaram, Chiru Navvuto and Nuvve Kavali stood out and brought him good name and from then there is no looking back.

Sunil first tried his luck as hero with Andala Ramudu in 2006 and the movie went to become a good hit. However, his second film as hero took almost 4 years but it’s a jackpot. He was chosen as the main lead in Tollywood’s most successful director, SS Rajamouli. He worked out on his body fitness and shred extra kilos in him. The film, Marayada Ramanna went on to become a super hit.  Sunil decided to continue as hero.

His first failure came in the form of his next, Katha Screenplay Darsakthvam – Appalraju directed by Ram Gopal Varma. However he rebounded with Veerabhadram’s Poolarangadu.  He even went on to build six pack abs for this movie and managed to impress the audience with this transformation. He later signed a multistarer movie, Thadaka along with Naga Chaitanya and even managed to overshadow the star kind. The movie is also a decent hit but the actor's career as hero received a big set back with Bhimavaram Bullodu. The film was a modest success at the box office. But Sunil was taken back by the comments of critics and audience who are fed up by his routine story lines.

• After the success of Maryada Ramanna, Sunil acted in 2 movies as comedian (Khaleja, Mirapakay) due to his prior commitment. He vowed not to do comedian roles any further.
• After proving himself with Maryada Ramanna, Sunil lent his voice for Jabardasth movie and acted in guest roles for Dongala Muta and Action 3D. All the three movies went on to become failures.
• Sunil lent his voice for Santhanam character in dubbing film, OK OK.
• Sunil wanted to become a villain when he entered film industry. But he forayed in to Tollywood as a comedian and years later turned in to a hero.
