It is no exaggeration to say filmy blood runs in the veins of Mega family. Sai Dharam Tej was heavily inspired by his uncles Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan towards film. However, his first film ‘Rey’ chance came in a little different manner. YVS Chowdary, the director and producer of the film saw him on a street playing cricket and is very impressed with him. Later he found him to be Chiranjeevi’s nephew and also came to know Pawan Kalyan is planning to introduce him. He approached Pawan Kalyan through art director Anand Sai and thus the project is sealed.

Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan attended the Rey movie launch function and blessed the movie. However, the movie ran in to doldrums for several reasons and the movie production went on haywire for about 3 years. Sai Dharam Tej began shooting of his second film, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham and almost completed it before the release of Rey.

Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham was the first released film in Sai Dharam Tej’s career. The film went on to become a decent hit and also earned very good name for Sai Dharam Tej for his performance in the first film itself.

• Both the directors of Sai Dharam Tej’s first and second movies are hardcore fans of Nandamuri family, but Tej or the Mega family never had any inhibitions to work with them.
• It is strongly rumoured that even though YVS Chowdary is named as the producer of Rey, it is Pawan Kalyan who is funding him out of the love for his nephew.
