Navdeep is director Teja’s find. He played the role of boxer who fights Terrorists from Pakistan in the movie ‘Jai’. The movie did not do well at the box office but earned him a good name. In the same year (2004), he made his Tamil debut with Arinthum Ariyamalum. He acted in 3 Telugu films and 2 Tamil movies till 2007.
His first break in Telugu came in 2007 in the form of Chandamama in which he played one of the heroes in the movie. The movie became a good hit and it marks his first commercial success in films. Results of movies did not deter his chances at any time; he went on to do movies without prominent success. He played a sidekick in Allu Arjun starrer Aarya-2 and that role earned him a very good role. After 2009, he went on to do movies like Om Shanti, Yagam, Mugguru, Akasame Haddu without making any buzz at the box office.
In 2011, he did a second hero role in Siddharth’s Oh My Friend and it got registered well with the audience. Similarly, he played a negative character in NTR’s Baadshah (2012) and got good reviews. In the same year, he has two releases as solo hero, Mytri and Vasool Raja only to disappoint once again. His most recent films - Bangaru Kodipetta directed by Raj Pippalla and Ice Cream and Anukshanam both directed by Ram Gopal Varma managed to create some curiosity before the release but could not impress the audience after the release.
His other film, Poga, a horror thriller has struggled to release in theaters due to financial problems and finally the makers directed released it on Television.
