Dasaradh was bitten by filmy bug during the time of Geethanjali. After he finished his M.Com, he joined popular writer Yandamuri Veerendranath who was working on serials. He used to write screenplay and dialogues for serials without any remuneration. After working for 5-6 serials, he requested Yandamuri to recommend him to film industry. He was then referred to Paruchuri Brothers.
Dasaradh joined as assistant to Parchuri Brothers. Even today he modestly says he learnt more from them than actually helping them. He saw some directors rejecting the work of Parchuri Brothers even though it is good and then he decided to become a director. He joined as associate director to KS Rama Rao’s Hello I Love You which is based on a novel of Yandamuri. The movie bombed miserably and Dasaradh was on roads.
Later on he was introduced to director Teja and joined him as co-writer and co-director to Chitram film. He worked with Teja for Nuvvu Nenu, Family Circus and Chitram. Up on a friend’s reference, he narrated a story to producers KL Narayanan and S.Gopala Reddy. They liked the story and wanted to do the film with Tarun. But somehow the project did not materialize then and then Dasaradh got a call from Nagarjuna for a family story. Nagarjuna was very impressed with the story and offered him to direct. It was how Santosham started and it went to become a blockbuster.
Riding high on the success of Santosham, Dasaradh directed Nithin in his second film, Sambaram. The film bombed miserably at the box office. Dasaradh tried a comeback two years later with Manchu Manoj’s Sri only to get failed once again. Finally he got a modest hit in 2008 with Swagatham starring Jagapathi Babu, Anushka and Bhumika. However the film did not help Dasaradh’s career much. He almost got three years gap and finally got to direct Prabhas in Mr.Perfect. The movie became the biggest turning point of his career then. It ended up being the biggest hit for Prabhas then.
His recent film was Greekuveerudu in 2013 with Nagarjuna. The film ended up with a forgettable result for both Dasaradh and Nagarjuna.
