After his studies, his interest in films drove Bhaskar to join the Adayar Film Institute. He completed a three year course in Direction and Script. Director Raja (Hanuman Junction fame) was a close friend of Bhaskar at the institute and he worked with Raja. He joined Sukumar for Aarya and it was then Dil Raju spotted him and promised to give him a break. He also worked in the direction department of Bhadra. Bommarillu story line was written in 1997. After his association with Dil Raju, the script was fine tuned with the love angle and father-son relationship etc. The film went on to become a big blockbuster then and Bhaskar since then became famous as Bommarillu Bhaskar.
Two years later, he directed Allu Arjun’s Parugu again for Dil Raju. There were too many expectations on the movie and it ended up as an average grosser at the box office. His third film, Orange was a big setback to Bhaskar’s career. There were allegations that Bhaskar’s negligence had increased the movie budget and working days. Producer of the film, Naga Babu fired on Bhaskar openly in the media. Adding to that, the movie went on to become a big disaster pushing Bhaskar’s career in to gloom.
Three years later, Bhaskar made his comeback with Ram’s Ongole Gitta. He pinned so many hopes on the film but it misfired completely and ended up as a big flop.
