He was introduced to the Telugu audience as a hero by K Raghavendra Rao through the movie Gangotri. Arjun in return delivered a decent performance up to the expected mark though being a debutante. The movie was well appreciated by boththe audience and critics.
As the Telugu audiences were slowly falling in the mood of accepting Arjun, he amazed them by making a master performance through his acting splendor exhibited in his second movie Arya.
Even his critics could not stop appreciating him for the drastic change of look and evolved acting capabilitiescompared to his first movie. Everyone had no choice but to accept him as a quick star witnessing hisunique, extraordinary and extensively energetic performance flavored with commendable dance sequences and renewed acting style. The movie was a mega blockbuster and there was no looking back for the young hero from then on.
His father, Allu Aravind said in an audio release function “I never thought Allu Arjun would become a star. In fact, I used to worry how he would make out in his future”
A uniquely thrilling achievementin the young hero’s career is his bi-linguistic fame (Telugu +Malayalam) in a short period of time. The stylish star impressed and attained a huge stardom in the Malayalam film industry making his keralite fans fall head over heels for his remarkable body language, stylish looks versatility of action, dance and energy. His next movie Desamuduru which was a huge commercial hit raised him to the ninth cloud of a star increasing the star-hood expectations on him. Arjun was the first hero in south Indian film industry to depict a six pack body on the screen.
Puri Jagannath once opined to tabloids that “I always love to work with Arjun. He makes the entire unit energetic with his presence. He is very dedicated to his work”
He goes to lengths of working out hisguts to attain perfection in every segment of his work. The very next film Parugu had won him the film fare’s best male actor award bringing him national level fame and recognition.
With the increasing audience expectations on him, Arjun had to explore the different shades of his performance unlike his almost similar youth based roles in earlier movies. The next movie happened to be Arya 2, the sequel of his earlier blockbuster,Arya. The movie has changed the dimension of entertainment of the Telugu commercial films. Arjun was again nominated for the film fare best actor male award. The dance number ‘Uppenantha…’ was so famous and such a huge hit that people were humming the number for more than a year. The hero then surprised the whole industry by accepting a multi-starrer movie Vedam (2010)under direction of Krish.He has touched the hearts of the young masses through his character ‘Cable Raju‘.It is not an exaggeration when said that he could move even his biggest critics with his very natural action at times. This role in Vedam again fetched him film fare best actor malenomination.Badrinathin 2011 was a rare career disaster for him but was immediately compensated by his next film Julayi in 2012 which then went on to become the biggest grosser of his career.
However his very next film, Iddarammayilatho was greeted with bad talk and reviews but ended up as an average commercially. But as always, Allu Arjun silenced his critics with his next film, Race Gurram directed by Surrender Reddy. The film was a smashing hit and also the first 50 Crore share film in the actor's career.
