Introduction
The generation goddess of the Telegu cinemas the versatile Anjali Devi passed away in Chennai, hospital on the very first day of this week i.e. Monday. She was 86 and died of cardiac arrest after being admitted in the hospital for breathing difficulties. She is known for her commendable performance for the roles of Sati, Sita, Sakkubai and even Leelavati. Mostly she is seen playing as a mother or a sister and even vamp. She is been both bold and glamorous on screen. She was even involved in an adverse criticism for being involved in an onscreen kissing scene.
Name and Fame
She said that her husband Adhi Narayana Rao was the one boosting her to take films and her first film “Gollabhama” in the year of 1946 was a result of this encouragement. Aswini Pictures was her own production house with her husband.
Born in the year of 1928 during Dasara she left the world and her two sons behind in this auspicious Sankranthi season. Had lived a successful onscreen black and white cinema carrier which involved praises for dancing and acting which was highly praised for her role of Sita opposite veteran actor who was the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N.T. Rama Rao in “Lava Kusha” in the year of 1963. She left a mark and a very instigating influence on the women of the rural areas. She is in this carrier for around five decades and has been successful with her acting skills in around five hundred movies and has also produced the famous serial on television on Sai Baba.
Condolence Message
Recently she was rewarded at the centenary celebrations of the Indian cinema which was organized by the Tamil Nadu government. Jayalalithaa, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu mentioned in her commiseration message that her sudden demise was a big loss to the industry and her contributions as an actor and producer will always be remembered. The Governor of Tamil Nadu, K.Rosaiah also mentioned about her contributions to the Indian cinema in different screens.
Because of her talents and contributions she emerged as a household name in Tamil Nadu.
