Samantha has never done a biopic before, but this may turn out to be fascinating than we have anticipated or not. The legendary actor Savitri has done a ton of great movies in her era. She was synonymous to great in Telugu movie industry while she was acting. To follow her story in Madhuravani aka Samantha’s perspective is an interesting side. In this movie Samantha is a journalist and a documentary filmmaker who narrates the story of the legendary actress Savitri.
The directors thought of having Samantha as Savitri, but for some unknown reason the role of finally offered to Keerthy Suresh who is quite new to the movie industry when compared to Samantha.
The film is directed by Nag Ashwin. If you remember Yevade Subramnyam movie then you can expect the standard of this upcoming biopic. He has set a bench mark for this genre of movies with his achievement. Telugu audience thoroughly enjoyed watching Yevade Subramanyam and it would so much fun to watch another movie directed by him.
That is not it though, the movie has an interesting cast selection, Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda and Rajendra Prasad. The cast is so interesting because of the type of movies each did before this one. This would really make a beautiful piece of art after the release.
Samantha’s role has made many people raise their eye brows. It is still difficult to imagine Samantha as a journalist least of all a filmmaker. However, we may change our opinion after we see her performance. Until then we have to deal with the cast of this movie.
This movie was first scheduled to be released on March 30th and due to some technical reasons, it has been postponed to May 9th.
There are several reasons why someone should prefer watching this movie. First of all, how will the cast come together as a team? Also, it is really intriguing to see the truth behind the story of Savitri’s death. We all know that she died because of substance abuse in 1981 but watching it while someone else is narrating a tale of a versatile actor is still worth the money.
