Politics first, shooting later
Chiranjeevi who is one of the biggest stars in Telugu film industry and has ruled the hearts of the fan for decades is also a politician and it is no news. Chiranjeevi who is known for being a thorough professional who takes his job seriously has recently cancelled his shoot simply in order to attend the Parliament. This happened primarily because a whip was issued by Congress that all the party members were to attend the parliament during the introduction of a bill by private members on the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Rushing to Delhi but in vain
This is Chiranjeevi’s landmark 150th Movie. Chiranjeevi who is a Rajya Sabha MP of Congress was at Hyderabad, the hub of Telugu films, busy shooting when this whip was issued. He did not hesitate to cancel his shoot immediately and flew to New Delhi. The bill was introduced by another Congress MP K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, however unfortunately the bill was not put up for voting and this was due to BJP’s strong obstruction to the proceedings.
Between Devil and the sea
However Chiranjeevi did speak to the media after the session and he said that if BJP had voted against the bill of special status then the special category status of the state of Andhra Pradesh would have been sealed. He also said that the bill was to come up for voting and BJP’s opposition to the proceedings only goes on to prove that they are caught in between with the deep sea on one side and with the devil himself on the other. When the whip was issued, Chiranjeevi was at Singappaguda which is a village located near the city of Hyderabad. He is shooting for a film which is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster film Kaanthi and V.V. Vinayak is the director of the film.
