Sampoornesh Babu playing a crucial role in his upcoming movie flick Lachhimdeviki O Lekkundi
In India, even when the film star gets caught in a traffic violation, it becomes a center of attraction. Such was the case with Sampoornesh Babu, who is more famous by his popular sobriquet, Sampoo. He is surely not an ordinary person and his popularity knows no bounds. His unique status makes him unique even when he was caught recently in a traffic scene by the police. Of course, traffic rules are same for everyone, but Sampoo is hardly anyone.
Hence, the very incident that traffic rules were broken by him was news. Although there was hundred others who were caught and fined, it became evident that there was a celebrity among them. Hence, Siddipet area of Medak district immediately came to limelight because of this. Although the fine amount would amount hardly to anything, the 100 rupees fine that was charged as his seat belt was not tightened properly. This was initially thought to be some traffic awareness campaign with several others with the star being set the example. But soon it was revealed that it was no such thing and the police had handed him a 100 rupees receipt. But, the whole incident was, as if, staged since Sampoo driving a Maruthi 800 and getting fined by 100 rupees is almost impossible. It seemed to be some kind of performance and whole thing was a spectacle to everyone present there. Even the police officers who fined him clicked pictures with him and they seemed enjoy having caught a celebrity since such an opportunity doesn’t come your way every day.
Although the extra checking was only because of a traffic awareness program from the police, it was evident that the fine was real. But, the burning question about the burning star is that whether it was a publicity stunt or it was simply a coincidence. While nothing can be told definitively, it is to be seen whether something crops up in the future as it seemed to be pre-planned from a person who hardly ever drive his Maruthi 800. All in all, the event seems to be staged for some sort of publicity which may be revealed later on.
