Prerelease expectations

The Telugu version of this film has performed huge pre-release business and has been ranked having Theatrical rights value of around Rs.40 crores in the AP/Nizam location alone. This movie has surpassed the record for pre-release business figures which was earlier set by the Rajinikanth starrer “Robo” by earning Rs.27 crores. The film is expected to create a huge impact especially in the AP/Nizam locations. The director Shankar has delivered big hits previously like “Robo” and “Aparachitudu” which have performed superbly at the box office and the expectations surrounding his new upcoming release “I” have necessarily skyrocketed because of this.  The critics and fans are optimistic that this movie will follow the footsteps of the previous hits and make huge collections in order to arrive at big profits.

The film has garnered exciting prerelease rates in Andhra with the regions of Vizag and the Eastern parts valuing over Rs.7.25 crores and Guntur faring around Rs.3.4 crores and Krishna around Rs.2.5 crores. Overall, the estimated prerelease figures point towards a figure of approx. Rs.40 crores.

Conclusion

The overall prerelease response towards the movie “I” has been showing positive signs of doing good business at the box office. However, the critics are not absolutely sure whether this movie would be able to surpass the record collections of “Robo” which was a big hit due to the superstar status enjoyed by Rajinikanth throughout the country as well as overseas. Vikram does not have a big fan following among the Telugu audience and this may prove to be a hindrance towards the overall success of the movie.
