The shooting for this gala movie started in the city of Mysore. For almost two weeks, the team worked hard completing the starting round shooting of the movie. After completing an eventful shooting schedule in the historic city of Mysore, the team behind Lingaa are all geared up for shifting their focus to the upcoming portions of the movie are to be shot in the enchanting city of Hyderabad. Reports indicate that the shooting would commence in Hyderabad from 25th May and a gala set has been prepared in the majestic Ramoji Film city. This set is in itself eye catching and the talking point in the industry at the moment.
The film would involve actor Rajinikanth appearing in a double role where each of the characters gets to romance Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty respectively. Sonakshi Sinha is over the moon with this golden opportunity of having to work with this great actor.The media sources have revealed that this mass entertainer is mainly based on the Mullaperiyar Dam issue and addresses a lot of issues through this movie. The antagonist role would be portrayed by Jagapathi Babu. The movie would be directed by KS Ravi Kumar and being produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the golden banner of Rockline Entertainments.

As the second phase of the shooting of Lingaa is scheduled to begin from 25th May in Hyderabad, more and more curiosity is slowly growing among the media, film world and fans who would like to know more about the latest news. The director, K S Ravikumar is absolutely confident about the success of this movie which revolves around the Mullaperiyar Dam issue and is targeted at sending out a message. The enchanting music has been composed by the legendary A R Rehman.

The first phase of the shooting has already been completed in Mysore, Karnataka from the 3rd of May, 2014. The technical team of Lingaa has roped in famous art director Sabu Cyril. The cinematography is being taken care of by R Rathnavelu. This much awaited movie is scheduled to be released on 10th April, 2015.
