Devi Sri Prasad is one of the top music composers in Telugu and Tamil film industries. He is celebrated for the talent that he has displayed so far in the films he has worked for. His talent is getting him so much of work that he has been keeping extremely busy lately. 2014 is proving to be a very busy year, as well.
His most recent works that have won him accolades are his compositions for the Salman Khan-starrer Jai Ho! in Bollywood, as well as Tollywood’s 1 Nenokkadine starring Mahesh Babu, Yevadu starring Ram Charan, etc. He is currently busy with Bala Krishna’s Legend. His hands are completely full with other projects, one being directed by Hai and starring Suriya, and the other being directed by Suraaj and starring Kaarthik.
Some of the projects that he is rumoured to be taking part in are the most talked about films of the industry at the moment, e.g. Gabbar Singh 2, PawanKalyan’s next film which is in the stage of pre- production, and a yet untitled film starring Allu Arjun, with TrivikramSrinivas as the director.
All in all, there are about 5 – 6 movies to be released in the year 2014 that Devi Sri Prasad is working in. In fact, he has even been signed in to work in a movie whose release is due in the year 2015.
Devi Sri Prasad, who is popularly referred to as SDF in his close circle, is mainly celebrated for his music skills, but, music is not the only field where his talent is restricted to. For instance, he is an excellent lyricist, as well, and lays great stress on how the songs are written. Naturally, his songs have the quality to strike the right balance between great music and soulful words. He makes it a point to write the lyrics of at least one song in any movie that he composes music for. The movie, Anandam, has a beautiful song called Premante Eminante, which has been penned by DSP. He has been able to reach the audience and strike a chord in their heart with several such songs.
Though DSP entered the industry as a music composer as he debuted with Shankar Dada MBBS almost a decade ago, and even went on to write lyrics, he has, time and again, manifested his talent as a great actor. He has appeared in cameo roles in quite a few movies. Some of his notable performances were in the movies Shankar Dada MBBS, which helped him reach the huge audience and win their hearts. Even in the film AtaarintekiDharedi which was released in the year 2013, he made an appearance as an actor. His cameos have left a mark in the film and upon the viewers.
While he is a music composer- turned- lyricist turned- actor, he also likes to bring out the talent in others. That is why, he tried to incorporate the voices of actors in his movies. This talented musician is gifted enough to spot the talent in actors like Shraddha Das, MamtaMohandass, NTR Jr., Siddharth and others.
