Tamil heart- throb, IlayaThalabath Vijay, is about to do a movie for P. T. Selvakumar, ShibuThameens, and the project he is about to start working on is his 58th film. The yet to be named project, being referred to as Vijay 58, is creating a lot of excitement.
Rumors about the cast:
Currently, the industry is abuzz with the news that Kannada actor, Sudeep, of Eega fame, has been roped in to play the main antagonist in the film. The actor said that it was a conscious effort on his part to avoid signing back-to-back movies after the huge success of Eega. Now that he has been offered such a diverse role and been offered an attractive sum of Rs. 6 crore, he thinks that that it was worth the wait. It is Sudeep who has confirmed that yesteryear’s celebrated heroine, Sridevi, has also been signed in to play a very important role in the movie. Sridevi, who was the leading lady in the 1980’s Tamil movies, achieved great fame with her work at Bollywood and Tollywood till the late 1990’s, until she married Bollywood mogul, Boney Kapoor, and settled for a family life, only to make a huge comeback as the lead lady in the GauriShinde directed film, English Vinglish, which received critical acclamation in 2012. Her inclusion in the movie is expected to be a huge boost for the fantasy thriller.
There are also some other rumours going around the Tamil industry about who will play the leading lady in the film. The film is likely to star either DeepikaPadukone or Shruti Hassan. Bollywood names such as Priyanka Chopra and IlleanaD’Cruz have also been mentioned in this regard, but the team is yet to zero in on the final name. There are also some rumours that the flick might have two heroines.But, nothing has been confirmed about these so far, and the film team is tight- lipped about it.
Talks about the crew:
The music and background score for the film is likely to be composed by A. R. Rahman, whose soulful music has been the major reason for many films’ huge success. The film will be produced by Selvakar and Thameens through SKT Studios. Vijay and Thameens have worked together earlier as Thameens Release was responsible for the distribution of Vijay’s Jilla in the city of Chennai. The film will be directed by Chimbu Devan. His script has greatly impressed Vijaybecause of the solid storyline. According to sources, Chimbu Devan has spent years working on this particular script. Chimbu Devan, who is well known for his works like Arai Enn 305-il Kadavul, ImsaiArasan 23am Pulikesi andIrumbukottaiMurattuSingam, is going to be working with Vijay for the first time.
Currently, Vijay is busy with his ongoing project, Kaththi. It is likely that he will also do a project with A.R. Murugadoss, and work for ‘Vijay 58’ will only begin after its completion. So, according to sources, it is still too early to start talking about ‘Vijay 58’. There were also talks about Vijay doing a film named Raja Rani with directed Atlee, but due to some problems, it is likely that the project will not happen.
