People had long glued their eyes on Akkini Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma’s film Officer. The film released on 1st June but as it seems that it did not turn out as expected. The team up of Ram Gopal Verma and Nagarjuna happened after three decades on a roll, so, people had huge expectations along with the actor and director themselves. But with the movie hitting the cinema halls and did not go around as expected made the team have all called it as low point. Both the actor and director made statement in their social media account about moving on.
Nagarjuna was a titular role along with new comer Myra Sareen. The film when released created a huge opening but all came slashing down within a few days. It so happens that some distributors of the film are berserk about the film loss, planning to end their lives because they feel they will not be able to cope up from this loss. With the film of this magnitude, hype was always there so the loss came as a huge shock to the Tollywood film fraternity. Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma though have come together after three decades they have created some huge milestones together. Some of the film to speak are Shivay, Antha and Govinda of Govinda garnered great critical accolades from the viewer’s perspective.
Nagarjuna was essaying a role of cop, the role which seems quiet blend with his box office records so people had high hopes but with script derailed to perform and as a result the movie turned out to be one of the biggest flops in box office. Although Akkini Nagarjuna have quoted text of movie on but Ram Gopal Varma and himself both are trying to cope up with the loss as they have a hefty loss to recover. T5Here were reports that the film was forcefully sold to buyers but producer came to the point and cleared the air it was not forced at any point rather they bore the full cost except for the five states of Andhra Pradesh at very nominal charge because of the leverage they had on the film from before. The producer even stated that internal conflicts were also one of the reasons of the film’s loss but they were not pointing the gun on any department or people as the whole cast and crew has to go through this loss.
It seems like in all the negativity spreading around the film there is one person who liked the movie and came out in full support of it and it is none other than Nagarjuna’s wife. Amala Akkini feels it’s a no nonsense movie where it was straight on point. We just hope Nagarjuna’s next movie release is appreciated by a bigger audience and creates a better standard in box office pull.
