Tollywood’s renowned producer Dil Raju has been slammed and accused under the Copy Rights Act along with four other members. A case has been filed against him with Hyderabad police last Sunday.
Shyamala Rani, a writer is the main accuser of this. According to the writer’s petition in Miyapur court, she had written a Telegu book titled ‘Na Manasu Ninnu Kore’. The famed producer has used her story in his film Mr Perfect, which was released in 2011. The book was however published in 2010. The writer claims that neither was her permission asked nor was she given any notice or remuneration for the film.
The writer even said in an interview that she had wanted to sell her book to many movie directors. However, none had accepted her offer or payed any attention. After she saw the movie in 2013, did she then realise her reason of downfall. She even found that many scenarios in the film matched with the setup given in the books down to same dialogues. However, the writer filed the case after 4 years of watching the movie.
Acting on the petition filed, Madhapur police registered a case under the producer – Dil Raju, director – K Dasarath, co-producers – Sirish and Lakshman and dialogue writer- Abburi Ravi. The case have been submitted under atleast four sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC), that also includes conspiracy and cheating.
The film which starred Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Taapsee Pannu was a block buster. It was released on 2nd April, 2011. The movie has even received the Nagi Reddy memorial Award for the category of best Telugu family entertainment movie in the year 2011. The movie has also been dubbed in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam.
Dil Raju has 3 big movie releases this year – Mahesh Babu’s Spyder, Jr NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa and Pawan Kalyan’s untitled film. He has also been assigned the producer of upcoming film Ravi, the Great starring Ravi Teja.
