What brings together a Telugu star like Naga Chaitanya and debutant director Krishna Marimuthu? Is it only burning cinematic ambition and a great script that brought them together for Yudham Sharanam?
Yudham Sharanam a youth oriented action thriller starring the beloved Chay and Lavanya Tripathi is all set to release this Friday 8th September. Little do the movie goers anticipating its release know that it was born out a collaboration that has run over decades.
Chay and the director Krishna Marimuthu have been great friends since they were 12. Ever since they were spellbound by cinema they have been collaborating to bring something stellar on the big screen.
In their younger years, they got together to make music. However, they knew very early on that their hearts lay in cinema.
Krishna took to writing. However, it was not enough for him to have only a court-side view of cinema. He wanted to develop as a Director to bring alive his writing. He gained experience as Assistant Director in the Tamil film industry. He is part of the teams that made Thalaivaa and Thandavam.
Meanwhile Chay went on to make his mark in Tollywood. He became the heartthrob of Telugu youth by his work in well-acclaimed movies like 100% Love, Ye Maaya Chesaave and Premam. Not a man to be happy with just commercial popularity, Chay also gained critical acclaim for his performance in Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo.
Throughout their separate journeys, the friends stayed in touch and kept jamming on scripts and movie making. Enthused, Krishna wrote the script for Yudham Sharanam which Naga Chaitanya found amazing. Chay was enthralled by the protagonist’s realistic transformation while facing a crisis. He helped garner interest in Krishna’s scripts and was instrumental in getting his friend the well-deserved opportunity. Thus the childhood friends are today bringing alive on screen the tale of an ordinary happy-go-lucky young man who takes desperate measures to protect his loved ones.
