Premam box office collections are still going strong. Premam, the Telugu film starring Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Hassan, has been a rage in the box office both domestic and overseas.
The fans are ecstatic and are heaving praise over everyone involved in the film. The film has been a remake of an eponymous Malayalam film made in the previous year. The film was a super hit and people thought Shruti Hassan will be hard put to emulate the performance that was given by the heroine in that film. However, proving every critic wrong, each has performed excellently in the film and surely, is as good as the original if not better. In fact, in terms of the box office performance, it can surely give its predecessor a run for its money.
Fantastic 1st week
Premam has opened to decent expectations. However, no one expected it to do so well in the box office. In the first week itself, it has a gross collection of 280 million rupees worldwide and its distributors are more than happy as the film has given unexpected returns. The film was neither heavily promoted nor was it touted to be such a big hit. However, things changed when the initial viewers loved the film and spread the word. Premam box office collections are still going strong after the release in 7th October.
A decent budget, a healthy return
The film was made on a decent budget of 200 million rupees. However, it retrieved 170 million through its selling of distribution rights globally. Since it has already given a 100 percent return to the distributors, they are elated and looking forward to the second week with much expectation. Apart from the performances, the cinematography and the sound has been some of praiseworthy elements. Overall a technically sound film with a heart-warming story- Premam had all the elements of success and it has proved to be one.
A balanced box office collection
Not only has it raked up a million dollars in the overseas box office, meaning it has not been limited to domestic attentions, but also has Premam maintained a good balance between weekend and weekday collections. During the weekdays, the lucky presence of Dusshera and Muharram made the difference since these days were holidays. People flocked to the theatre on these days too and thus, while there is a whooping 150 million collection on the weekend, the weekdays have balanced it well with a collection of 130 million.
