Good news for small budget film makers
The Government of Telengana has recently announced that single screen movie theaters in the state can host as many as five screenings each day. The permission is to do so is likely to be a great boon for not only Telengana exhibitors but also filmmakers who are toiling hard to make new films on a very limited or small budget. However, the Government has allowed the screening of only small budget films during the additional slots of shows in the single screens. It is most likely that we will get smaller budget films from new directors in the morning shows from now.

Conditions and obstacles in the way
Besides the exhibitors and producer of the film, this is a very good news for the audience as well as they will be getting access to more films with quality, concept and better presentation in spite of being made on smaller budgets. However, for this arrangement to work out well for every party, it is essential that more people go and watch these small budget films. If the films are not appreciated enough and do not run well in the morning shows, then it will cause a big dent in the profit shares of exhibitors, film producers. The exhibitors will have to bear the burden of losses not only in theater rentals but also movie prints. The amount of money spent on the publicity of these movies will not be compensated properly either. However, we should stay optimistic and hope that this will not transpire.
Hope for new directors and script writers

In India and Telengana specifically, there are many new and talented directors and writers who are coming up with scripts of immense quality with not only compelling storylines but also intriguing characters with a lot of depth. These scripts often aim to introduce new concepts and themes in cinema as well. The cast and crew are often more than capable to make sure that the end product is something that critics and audiences all can cherish. However, these films often lack budget and also fail to do sufficient business in big cities, especially single screen theaters where people are more interested in watching big film stars dishing out relentless action, comedy and plots that are over the top and lack realism. If the Telengana Government’s decision helps to usher a new change in Telugu films, it will not only give small budget films a stronger backing but encourage new directors and writers greatly as well.
