Young anchor takes own life.
Happy go lucky anchor of Gemini Music Channel Nirosha committed suicide in Secunderabad last week in her hostel room in Sindhi Colony. Reports state that she had an altercation with her boyfriend who lives in Canada over a video call. He is a police suspect. Nirosha had not only hosted movie shows on Gemini music channel but has worked on various other shows on channels like ABN and TV6.
Initial suspicions and further investigation
Police officials from Ramgopalpet police station who are investigating the case said that the fight between her and her boyfriend might be one of the reasons for her suicide and she could have even hanged herself while being on the video call. The case, registered under Section 174, underwent further investigation and the police were working hard to find out the details of what exactly transpired during the final moments before she committed the act and the their opinion changed significantly as their latest updates state that Nirosha was suffering from severe stomach ache and took her own life to be relieved from it. Her parents and relatives also opined that this was the only plausible reason behind her sudden decision to end her own life. They said that she has been suffering from such health issues for quite some time. This however contradicts the theory of the failed love story even though the police are still trying their best to find out more about the boy, supposedly named Ritwik. Their efforts have not been very fruitful so far as the boy lives abroad and is currently out of reach. Nirosha had got engaged only one month ago and supposed to get married within the next month.
Reaction from friends and colleagues
Her close friends and colleagues who spend time with her on a regular basis are quite shocked at her death as she always seemed to be a very proactive, optimistic and cheerful person and was also known for being very committed and passionate about her profession. Her body underwent postmortem at Gandhi Hospital and the reports were delivered to her parents. Nirosha’s death is once again an indication that ending your own life is not always the solution to various problems in life and it is always better to be brave and face the issues head on. Meanwhile it is hoped that the police who are now checking Nirosha’s phone for contact details will find something new soon. Nirosha was from Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.
