Anupama Parameswaran, the young actress in Malayalam movie Premam is reported to have a great rapport with young Tamil hero Dhanush. Anupama can not only speak in Tamil but she also took tips regarding acting and dialogue delivery from him and her colleagues in the shooting unit of the film ‘Kodi’ are growing more and more fond of her for her performance and earnestness. Kodi is an upcoming Tamil political thriller produced by Dhanush himself and directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar. This is their third collaboration following Kakki Sattai and Ethir Neechal. The film stars Dhanush, Trisha Krishnan, Sathish, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Subbu Panchu besides Anupama who is making her Tamil film debut with this one. After the project was first announced in August last year, many actresses including Shriya Saran, Vidya Balan, Shamili, Madonna Sebastian were all approached but the plans didn’t work out for various reasons and eventually it was Anupama, who was signed to play the female lead in the film along with Trisha, who is rumored to have some negative shades in the film. Even though the shooting for the film started in early December, the Chennai floods delayed the plans and official shooting started on 5th January this year.
Besides her Tamil debut in Kodi, Anupama Parameswaran is all set for her Telugu debut with ‘A…Aa’ as well. She is also starring in the Telugu remake of Premam.
Premam earned a lot of praises from critics and movie goers alike in 2015 and is a coming of age romantic drama about a boy George played by Nivin Pauly who falls in love with three different women (Mary, Malar and Celine) at three different stages of his life. Anupama Parameswaran played the character of Mary in the film. Premam was written and directed by Alphonse Putharen and produced by Anwar Rasheed. Besides Nivin Pauly and Anupama Parameswaran, the film also stars actors like Madonna Sebastian, Sai Pallavi, Krishna Shankar, Shabareesh Varma, Vinay Forrt, Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen and many others. The film pleased the critics greatly as most experts rated it five out of five and said that what keeps the movie going is nothing but pure entertainment. Anupama had received a lot of praise for her performance as Mary and so had the other actors for their respective roles. The film did well at the box office and made huge profits both in Kerala and overseas. Audiences, especially those from the younger generations were highly impressed with the film and kept going back for watching the movie again and many theaters were forced to even accommodate extra shows. It can now only be hoped that Anupama would shine in Tamil and Telugu film industries as well.
