Temper, Telugu action film of 2015, starring Kajal Aggarwal and N. T. Rama Rao Jr is all set to be made into a remake in Kollywood. The original film was a huge success and as an out and out mass entertainer, drew big crowds to the theater. NTR Jr played a corrupt police officer in the film, which not only turned out to be a great platform for him to prove his acting chops but also his abilities in various action sequences and stunts. The film was directed by Puri Jagannadh and written by Vakkantham Vamsi and it bowled the audience over with NTR’s performance in the climax sequence. Audiences loved the performances by Kajal Aggarwal and Posani Krishna Murali who played the role of a police constable Narayana Murthi. The film fired big time and made around ninety seven million, making it the biggest opening in Rama Rao Jr’s career and in Telugu film industry in 2015. Releases of films like Bandipotu, Gayakudu caused the box office collections of Temper to drop but didn’t stop it from becoming one of the highest grossing films in the history of Telugu film industry.
Now reports state that the film will be remade in Kollywood and rumor has it that the remade version is going to be directed by Vijay Chander and will star Simbu. Sources also say that the rights of the film remake have been acquired by Michael Rayappan and director Vijay Chander and Simbu have already been roped in. However, the makers have not been able to take a decision regarding who will be joining the rest of the cast and who will be working as crew for the film. They are expected to make a decision soon. Simbu’s next project is Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and there is already enough hype about the film. However, after Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada Simbu will be committed to the remake of Temper fully and sources are saying that he is expected to start shooting for the film from next month.
Many believe that Simbu’s friendship with NTR Jr. has been instrumental behind him joining the Temper remake team. Simbu who started his career as a child artist in films that were directed by his father is now one of the most well known actors down south. Since his senior debut in Kadhal Azhivathillai, he has has made a name for himself not only as an actor but also as a director, singer and voice actor. However, Simbu’s career has been marred with controversies as he has had conflicts and rifts with many directors and actors due to his outspoken nature. It can only be hoped now that he will do justice to the remake of Temper and help it rule the box office once again.
