Hero cum producer Nithin project ‘Akhil’ was a debacle and it is this debacle that forced him to draw everybody’s attention away with his role as a hero. A couple of films by forever young hero Nithin are already in various stages of either post production or production. However, at the same time Nithin’s Sreshth Movies are trying to bag theatrical rights of 24, renowned actor Suriya’s new movie.
24 is probably this year’s most awaited science action thriller. The film is directed by filmmaker Vikram Kumar. Its teaser trailer released recently and it has already turned heads and captured everybody’s imagination. Not only have the Tamil film audiences liked and accepted the trailer but it has won the admiration of movie lovers from all over India and even abroad. Besides the stunning and intriguing visuals, the music by legendary A.R. Rahman has wowed the fans and the teaser has around two million views on Youtube already. Moreover, producer Gnanavel Raja wishes for flamboyant and aggressive publicity and promotional campaign to be run for the film. Nithin is the person with the responsibility of publicizing the Telugu version of the film and hence he is in touch with Gnanavel Raja and leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. The release of the teaser trailer has already hiked everybody’s interest and curiosity regarding the film and now a good release date during the summer will certainly guarantee it a great opening.
Nithin kicked off his career with the film Jayam fourteen years ago and his performance in the film also earned him the best debutant Filmfare award. He went on to act in Dil, Hero, Victory, Sambaram, Raam, Takkari, Drona, Agyaat, Maaro, Rechipo, Sye etc. He also earned to nominations at the Filmfare awards (Telugu) in 2013 for his performances as Rahul and Karthik in Ishq and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde respectively. He has also won Santosham Film Awards for his roles in Sri Anjaneyam and Sye. He has also lent his voice for two songs (Lachhamma and Ding Ding Ding) composed by Anoop Rubens in Ishq and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. It now remains to be seen how Nithin does with 24’s promotion.
The development of 24 started way back in 2009, however the project was shut down because of conflicting clash of opinions between the actor, director and producers. Luckily, four years later, in 2014, Suriya decided to take up the role of male lead in the film and also produce it. The film has been shot in Maharashtra in places like Nasik, Pune, Goregaon. Suriya will be joined by Samantha and Nithya Menen in the film. Only time will tell how 24 will do at the box office.
