Trivikram Srinivas – the man who is best known for his excellent usage of Telugu language in his dialogues. Started his journey as a dialogue writer, he is now one of the most sought directors in Tollywood.

Personal Life

Born as Akella Naga Srinivasa Sarma, Trivikram Srinivas was born in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh and completed his schooling and intermediate there itself. He completed his B.Sc in Physics from DNR College, Bhimavaram and finally completed his Masters from Andhra University with a gold medal.

He is married to Soujanya, a relative of famous lyricist Sirivennala Seetha Rama Sastry.
Career

As dialogue writer:

Trivikram moved to Hyderabad after completing his M.Sc. Comedian turned hero Sunil is his roommate then. Trivikram used to take tuitions to children to make a living. He used to teach Editor Gautam Raju’s children. He slowly developed contacts in industry and thus came his first chance as dialogue writer for Swayamvaram movie but Nuvve Kavali released before that and marked his dialogue writer debut. His dialogues in Chirunavvutho, Nuvvu Naku Nachav, MAlliswari and Manmadhudu were instant hits and he rose to stardom. Interestingly all these movies were directed by Vijay Bhaskar. He continued writing dialogues for all his movies even after wielding megaphone. In his second innings, Athadu, Jalsa and Khaleja were the famous ones. He won the Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Award for Best Dialogue Writer five times for his dialogues in blockbuster films Chiru Navvutho, Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, Nuvve Nuvve, Malliswari and Athadu.

As director:

Trivikram Srinivas started his second innings by directing Tharun’s Nuvve Nuvve. The movie was a decent hit and brought him good name. His second is Mahesh Babu’s Athadu. The movie was a strange case. It was a cost failure in its first run but it did tremendously well on TV and the producer entered in to profits by selling the second term TV rights. He took a gap of 3 years for his third film and came back strongly with Pawan Kalyan’s Jalsa. The movie went on to become the biggest hit in the actor’s career then.

Post the success of Jalsa, he immediately got an offer from Mahesh Babu but the movie due to several factors went on to be on sets for about 3 years. This period is the most controversial stint of the director. Just before the release, the producer’s links with mafia revealed and further marred the movie. The movie despite getting critical acclaim is a cost failure and a flop at the box office.

Trivikram then fought his way back with Allu Arjun’s Julayi. Unlike his usual nature of taking much time for shooting, he completed the film in good time. The film went to become a big hit and is currently the biggest hit in Allu Arjun’s career. Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daredi is the most recent work of Trivikram. Part of the movie was released on the internet even before the theatrical release. While everyone thought the movie will suffer heavy losses, it went on to become the biggest hit of Tollywood all time.
Trivia
- Sunil and Trivikram were roommates during their struggle period in industry. Interestingly, both of them got married on the same day.
- Teenmaar is the only movie he penned lyrics for another director after he wielded megaphone.
- Trivikram penned lyrics for a song in Ravi Teja starer Oka Raju, Oka Rani.
- Trivikram crooned a song ‘Computersu Artsu Sciencu’ in his first directorial film, Nuvve Nuvve.
- Trivikram is also one of the most sought directors for TV commercials. Noted ads out of them are - Pepsi Commercial advertisement with Ram Charan and Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Jos Alukkas Ad with Mahesh Babu and Celkon Mobile ad with Actress Tamannah and Cricketer Virat Kohli.
