Ramayya Vastavayya created lot of buzz with teaser trailer and Jr.NTR’s punch dialogues along with huge star value raised the expectations on the film. Moreover, the film was produced by sure shot hit producer Dil Raju and the audience had high confidence in his selection. But when the film released during the Dussehra season of the year, it yielded nothing but disappointment and shock to the fans as well as common film goers.
Why is it so?
The film raised heavy expectations with superior editing and cuts in the trailer but when it came to the actual movie, there was repetitive content and it became just another revenge drama. Harish Shankar- the star director of Gabbar Singh directed the film and he even promoted saying Jr. NTR will be seen as a lover boy in a different image for this film. But in the film, the image did not suit Jr. NTR at all. His comedy timing did not make a huge impact and at one moment it looked boring. Samantha had little to perform as an actress but was mostly confined to songs. In fact, her role did not have any connection to the main storyline. Shruthi Hassan could manage to get a decent role but her screen time was limited and the audience was irresistibly reminded of Jr.NTR’s earlier films like Simhadri and Samba. Jr. NTR was not seen in full form for this film due to any reason whatsoever. As a result, beside a blockbuster like Attarintiki Daredi, the film paled down significantly.
IQlikmovies terms Ramayya Vastavayya to be a disaster of the year for all the aforementioned reasons.
