His sudden demise in the end of the year has been a shock to many of Telugu Film fans as well as the industry. Dharmavarapu Subhramanyam was well known to the Television household with the comedy serial Anando Brahma which used to air in Doordarshan during late 80s. Many comedians such as Brahmanandam and Sutthi Velu acted in it making it most loved serial of that age. Jandhyala identified his talent and introduced him in Rajendra Prasad starrer Jayammu Nischayammu Ra. Right from then, Dharmavarapu became well known to every Telugu person for the laughter he generated with peculiar characters he did. Let it be the over flattering employee to his boss in Mister Pellam, poor father of a prodigy in Swathi Kiranam, Funny lecturer in Nuvve Nuvve or Mobile Obsessed Passport officer in Okkadu- Dharmavarapu could pull off any role with tremendous ease.
2013 witnessed a huge loss by losing Dharmavarapu and it turned out to be a big shock to Telugu Film Industry as well as the audience. His brilliant histrionics, body language, and acting skills set an example for aspiring young comedians in Telugu.
