Amanchi Venkata Subramaniyam

2013 has witnessed the loss of many significant personalities relating to Telugu Film Industry and one such great personality is Amanchi Venkata Subramaniyam (A.V.S). He entertained the audience for nearly two decades with his comedy and superior acting skills. He also ventured into direction and did great service to Movie Artists Association by serving as chairman thrice.

A.V.S was introduced into Telugu Cinema by artistic director Bapu in Rajendra Prasad, Amani starrer Mister Pellam during the year 1993. His performance in the film as innocent son of a businessman uttering the word “Tutthi” was highly admired and appreciated by the audience.  He bagged the Nandi Award as a debutant.  With a superb start A.V.S never looked back in his career as a Comedian by starring in most of EVV Satyanarayana and S.V.Krishna Reddy’s films. His appearance as the funny villain with shaven head in Ghatotkachudu is best remembered for his one liner “Rangu Paduddhi!”.  He continued to generate laughter even in the 2000s decade by appearing as the innocent tourist from Tenali in Chiranjeevi’s Indra.

A.V.S’s peculiar dialogue delivery and acting skills are irreplaceable in Telugu Cinema. His great presence made Telugu Films even more enjoyable. His sudden demise as a result of his Liver Cancer has been a great shock to Telugu movie lovers. However,  A.V.S will be remembered for his great work throughout and a significant contribution to the world of Telugu Cinema.
