He is a mania, phenomenon and religion and moreover, it is always delight writing about him. 2013 would be incomplete without the mention of the ‘Powerstar’. Because so much has happened around this 8-lettered word! In a way, this star has changed the course of Tollywood’s planetary motions with his blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi.
The AD Sensation
Pawan Kalyan may have delivered numerous blockbusters in his 17yrs of filmy career but this 2013 and Attarintiki Daredi will always have a permanent reservation in the Powerstar’s heart. As the movie is simply a hit but indeed a triumph of a “conspiracy” over Pawan Kalyan, according to fans and makers. It is a true testimony that no force on this earth can hold back a good movie and especially a Powerstar’s film! The movie was badly affected due to the leak of about 90mins of the movie prior to its theatrical release. A decent quality print was floating around the web. With a movie made on some whopping 50crores and the movie is out on net prior to its release, anyone would have easily had an instant cardiac arrest or a mild stroke at least, but producer BVSN Prasad is a strong man! It is a biggest shock to the industry that a star’s film had a massive leak and such a thing has never happened in the history of Telugu cinema! So what did Pawan Kalyan do?
We are not sure how crazy other stars would have gone about this but Pawan Kalyan was silent just as the silence before a typhoon. His fans, as a matter of fact, every family, good-hearted cine goer have come to support a good family entertainer. The film has eventually turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year. What made the entire Attarintiki Daredi episode more interesting was – Pawan Kalyan, who is otherwise a placid, serene and reserved personality came out to thank the public and fans with a specially arranged ‘Thanks-giving’ meet on the eve of the film’s success and have delivered an emotional message intimidating the so called bigwigs behind the leak, making controversial statements like “This is not piracy, this is conspiracy!”.
The World looks
Adding to the movie’s super hit bang at the box-office, Pawan was riding high with the entire world looking at him. World renowned news giant New York Times listed him as the 5th World Most Desirable Actors in India surpassing Bollywood superstars like Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor et al. He was even listed 26th in the Forbes India List that apparently makes him the first South Indian to make it to this position so far.
Adding to this, his rift with the Mega family and his rumored split up with his wife Renu Desai were also the talk of the town.
